Jimmy grew up in Trinity Cove, son of the wealthiest man in town. He had an luxurious life until he met Irene Mizuno and fell in love. His parents refused to allow him to marry this half-Japanese girl, but he followed his heart and was disowned for his bride's love. They married and he worked three years to support her. Eventually he joined the military, hoping for a long career, but was tragically killed in a riot when Irene was 8 months pregnant with Teya.
Irene Mizuno-Litke-Ward was from the poorest side of Trinity Cove, a section known as Portsmouth. She'd worked and been neglected most of her life, until a white knight rode into her life in the form of Jimmy Litke, and her life was forever changed. Irene doesn't like to talk about the happy years, as their memory is painful for her. She loves her daughter, but resents her in some respects. She married James Ward after Jimmy's death when the money and charity seemed to have run out. Affection has grown between them and she was happy to have two children by him, Mina & Ike.
James Ward was just an average widower with an unhappy marriage and a son the same age as Irene's daughter. What began as a convienace ended up as a fond union. His most horrifying memory still haunts him...the death of his son, Arnie. Not only his two young children, but his step-daughter Teya, feel his pain still as he separates himself from them. James was never a warm-fuzzy kind of guy, formerly collecting knives & weapons, and now only working until the kids have grown-up.
Arnie was born to James & Anita Ward and lived with his single father for the early years. After James married Irene and Arnie met Tey he had a best friend. The two were inseparable, until thatis, a horrible camping trip that claimed the life of the pre-teen Arnold.
Minako and Piko are not twins, but only eleven months apart in age. They've grown-up hand in hand, their lifestyle improving with each year, though they've never really noticed. Minnie is an excellent swimmer, Ike a math wiz at elementary level.

Appearance: Jimmy had always been a prepster, even after his disownment his typical outfit included Khakis (pants/shorts), Polo shirts, and a sweater. His military uniform was his final resting gear, and he felt very comfortable in them. He was a bit stern looking, but very laid-back in all honesty. His smile was brightest when admiring his bride of the bulging abdomen where his baby grew.
..........Irene is very sweet looking. She wears her hair short, as she always has. Her clothes are nice, suitable for her job managing a kitchen store at the local mall. She has a subtle smile that leaves her face only long enough for her to rage at her current husband or misbehaving children. She likes her job and jewlery, especially earrings, are her passion.
..........James works at a loading dock and his wardrobe suggests such an occupation. Dingy jeans, white shirts (they're actually off-white no matter *how* much bleach is applied) and hiking boots. He isn't cuddly at all, though sometimes he looks pathetically sad and in desperate need of a hug. Since Arnie's death he hasn't been the same and little is forseen to be changing.
..........Arnie was a thirteen year-old boy when he died. Even during the dead of winter he would wear cut-offs and t-shirts. His favorite bands, tv shows, movies, slogans & celebrities often adorned his clothes. There was little Irene or James could do to keep him in the less poverty-stricken ensembles they worked hard to provide. He and Tey shared clothes until his death. His only change from the normal playclothes was his special dress-up clothes, slim black pants, a black vest and billowy white shirts with fancy collars. Arnie loved to show off when in dressy clothes.
..........Minnie eight years old and her clothes and attitude reflect that. She runs around wildly, perfecting her swimming prowess, in cute kid clothes (mostly pastels). She smiles all the time, generally unaware of the world she's lived in. Minnie's greatest asset is her hair, its soft, silky, managable and looks wonderful in any cut.
.......... Ike is just a typical six year old. He's too rambunctious to keep his clothes in perfect order, and his dimples light up his chubby little face. He takes after Irene in the respect of his eyes, they are shaped much like a full-blooded Japanese and when he laughs they are often hidden by gleeful cheeks. Ike loves counting and adding, subtracting, it makes him laugh to figure out how many apples Farmer Smith would have after he gave or took so many from Farmer Anderson.
Weapons: Jim was a skilled man in the military and could handle many types of combat weapons.
..........Irene is a peaceable woman, but can hold her own in a fist fight.
..........James has a collection of knives (machete, hunting) that has been long forgotten. He's out of practice.
..........Arnie was too young to really have any such things, but he was pretty good at kickball :)

..........Ike's only defense is what he's learned watching Power Rangers.
